Sales Tax

City of Richland Hills' sales tax rate is 8.25%. The local tax rate the City currently generates 1.50% on sales tax revenue. The 1.50% the City collects is allocated as follows: General Fund 1.00%, Richland Hills Economic Development 1/8% (one-eighth percent), and Crime Control District 3/8%(three-eighth percent).

Property Tax

The Tarrant Appraisal District determines the value of all taxable property within the City of Richland Hills.  Each October, annual property tax statements are mailed out by the Tarrant County Tax Assessor Collector. The City has a contract with the Tarrant County Tax Assessor collector to handle the property tax billings and collections on behalf of the City.
Every year, the City of Richland Hills adopts a tax rate along with an operating budget in September. The total property tax rate allocated to the City is comprised of two (2) elements: Maintenance and Operations and Debt Service rates.
