Republic Services will collect all items placed on the curb as part of the residential garbage collection cycle providing that the items are acceptable for landfill disposal and the items are containerized in a bag, secured bundle, can or box.
Trees, shrubs, brush trimmings, fencing and household items, may be placed on the curb on weekly collection days IF the following specifications are followed:
*Brush must be securely tied and bundled.
*Brush bundles may not exceed 4 ft. in length.
*Brush bundles may not weigh more than 50 lbs.
*Fence panels must be cut into 4 foot by 6 foot sections. Loose pickets must be tied and bundled.
*Household items (including stoves, furniture, mattresses, hot water heaters, dishwashers, etc.).
TOTAL AMOUNT PLACED ON CURB SHOULD BE NO MORE THAT WHAT COULD FIT IN 2 PICK-UP TRUCK BEDS, LEVELED OFF.
Collectors WILL NOT collect these items if they do not meet the above stated restrictions.
Household hazardous waste consists of materials that pose potential threats to people and the environment, such as:
- Insect sprays
- Rust removers
- Swimming pool chemicals
- Wood preservatives
- Chlorine Bleach
- Drain openers
- Corrosive chemicals (non-commercial)
- Muriatic acid
- Hobby chemicals
- Used motor oil
- Used transmission fluid
- Gear oil
- Paint products including oil, latex, spray and stripper
- Paint thinners
- Automotive chemicals including waxes, polish, carburetor cleaner, brake fluid, gasoline and antifreeze
Republic Services cannot collect household hazardous waste as part of your regular garbage or recycling collection, but we are committed to providing convenient and affordable household hazardous waste drop off locations and participate in community collection events nationwide to ensure responsible disposal of hazardous materials.
