Municipal Court : Jury Service
 Jury Cases

Jury Service Cases heard by the Richland Hills Municipal Court are Class C misdemeanor violations that are punishable by fine only. Jurors are selected from a random list of voter registrations.

A Person May Claim an Exemption from Jury Duty if that Person:

  • Is over 70 years of age
  • Has legal custody of a child/children under 10 years of age and jury service would require leaving the child without adequate supervision
  • Is a student of a public or private secondary school
  • Is enrolled and in attendance at an institution of higher learning
  • Is the primary care taker of an invalid who is unable to care for himself

These exemptions are not mandatory and an individual who meets one or more of these criteria may serve on a jury panel. If you wish to claim an exemption, you must send proof of your reason to the Municipal Court at 3200 Diana Drive, Richland Hills, TX 76118.
