Subject: Sewer System Improvement Plans and Specifications
The plans and specifications for the proposed Sewer Improvements as proposed in the CIP for Budget Year 2011-2012 has been completed. The project includes pipe bursting of 1,554 LF of existing sewer line, install 23 new services, replace 52 manhole frames and covers, coating the interior of 10 manholes, make 9 point repairs in the sewer system, HMAC pavement repair, and mobilization and traffic control. The estimated total construction cost is $221,000.00. If funds are available, one manhole may be replaced and was included as an alternate bid item. All of the improvements are located in the southwest sewer shed. The project is anticipated to take 120 calendar days. Final review of the plans and specifications is still in progress and will be sent to your office prior to noon on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.
Staff proposes to receive bids on January 12, 2012 and award at the January 24, 2012 council meeting. Therefore, please place on the councils December 13, 2011 agenda to approve the plans and specifications for sewer system improvements. Please contact me if you have any questions.
