APPROVE CONTRACT AWARD TO HALFF AND ASSOCIATES REGARDING DRAINAGE DESIGN FOR UPPER HARDSITY DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS -- Consider discussing and approving contract award for the amount of $83,560 to Halff and Associates regarding providing professional engineering services for the design of the drainage infrastructure recommended in the Metroplex Baptist Church Drainage Analysis.
Background:
The Upper Hardisty Drainage Improvement ultimately calls for two a 48’’ RCP line approximately 600 linear feet from the current inlet on the line located on the South property line of 7060 Boulevard 26 (The proposed CCR Grapevine Hwy LLC and JM Walker LP development)to the city’s current storm sewer outfall located between Hardisty Street and Glen Hills Drive. The proposed improvements are the result of the drainage analysis previously conducted by Halff and Associates in August 2011. This request is for engineering and design services including the surveying for the proposed line and inlet box and project oversight for the portion of the drainage improvement to be built by the developer on their property at 7060 Boulevard 26. The project costs will also include platting and surveying for drainage easement descriptions. Due to current downstream capacity of the drainage system staff will implement the project by installing one line at a time; but designing and requiring the right of way for the entire project at this time. This improvement will help improve the overall drainage in the area and make commercial property at 7060 Boulevard 26 development ready.
