Subject: Ash Park Sidewalk Proposal

In the 2011-2012 Budget, $20,000 was budgeted for a sidewalk on the west side of Ash Park from Latham Dr. to Baker Blvd. Attached, is a proposal from Reliable Paving in the amount of $18,200 for the sidewalk. The city is using Reliable Paving because they have the annual bid with Tarrant County for concrete. Richland Hills has a cooperative agreement with Tarrant County. Their prices are very competitive and their quality of work is very good. Staff is in the process of requesting permission from TxDOT to access their ROW in order to connect to the existing ramp at the southwest corner of Baker Blvd. and Ash Park. Hopefully, this process will go smoothly but with TxDOT you never know. Staff may need to have a design plan drawing prepared to submit to TxDOT but will try to do it in-house.

Therefore, please place this item on the council’s December 13, 2011 agenda for their consideration. Please contact me if you have any questions.
