Subject: Tarrant County Interocal Agreement - 2012
Attached is the Interlocal Agreement with Tarrant County (TC) to reconstruct Labadie from Baker Blvd. to Evelyn Dr. in budget year 2011-2012. TC crews will be responsible for the removal of curb and gutter and driveway approaches, reclaim and recycle the existing roadbed material, incorporate cemlime as a stabilization agent, regrade and place with 2” HMAC surface. The city will use TC’s annual bid contractor for the installation of curb, gutter, valley gutters, and driveways as per the interlocal purchasing agreement with TC dated 10-2-1997. TC requires that the city fund only the cost of the materials for work they perform.
The city is requesting TC to plan for the reconstruction to begin at the close of the school year in May, and, hopefully be completed before school begins in August 2012. This will allow the contractor and TC to work while the children are out of school. The total cost of the project is estimated at $140,000.00 and will be funded from the city’s annual street CIP Budget for 2012.
For the last several years TC has reconstructed several street projects that has improved city streets while saving tax payers dollars and have performed well. Therefore, please place on the council’s 9-27-2011 or 10-11-2011 agenda for council action. Please contact me if you have any questions.
