Subject: Drainage GIS Master Plan

In this year budget, $15,000.00 approved to begin organizing a Drainage GIS Master Plan. Halff & Associates was awarded the contract and has completed 95% of this year’s plan. The only remaining action for this year’s contract is training staff on work completed. The proposed GIS plan for the drainage system is a mulity year plan that will allow staff to be trained in the intricacies of the system and for public use. The ultimate goal of the plan is for staff and consultants to utilize the plan in developing a Storm Water Master Plan for the city, allow citizens to be updated on the city’s drainage system, allow citizens to inform public works of drainage problems and flooding areas, develop a mapping system for staff use and to assist staff in the Storm Water Management Plan required by TCEQ.

Therefore, please place on the city council’s May 24, 2011 agenda for Halff and Associates to give a brief overview of the first year Drainage GIS Master Plan and present drawings that are a result of this years work. Please contact me if you have any questions.
