The architect has submitted an attached recommendation to add an alternate bid item to the Library Proposal for roof repairs. The roof repair is based on an inspection from a roof consultant, Rooftech. The improvements to be made and an explanation of proposed architectural services are included in the attachment.
The EIFS can be replaced without replacing the gutter but it may be to the city’s advantage to replace the gutter while the EFIS is being replaced. To add the alternate bid to the Library proposal will be an additional design cost of $3,500.00. The architect’s estimated cost of the roof repair could be as much as $10,000.00. The alternate roof repair cost, if approved, will be included in the bid but does not have to be awarded.
Therefore, please place on the councils April 12, 2011 agenda to consider approving an alternate bid item, “Roof Repair”, to the Library’s renovation plans and specifications. Please contact me if you have any questions.
