In the 2010-2011 Budget, $141,000.00 was budgeted to purchase a backhoe and 2 vehicles. One vehicle was approved at the March 8, 2011 council meeting. The remaining backhoe and one ton truck quotes, attached, were obtained from the state Buy Board. Staff is also requesting to purchase two additional pieces of equipment, not budgeted, with the savings from the purchase of the one ton truck and the backhoe. The additional equipment is a SCAG Deck Mower and a brush mower attachment. The SCAG Deck mower is a zero turn mower which will be used to mow areas not included in the landscape contract such as drainage areas along creeks, the small detention pond on Davidson St., and in small areas. The brush mower attachment is for cleaning brush in the sump area and other areas as needed.
Below is a listing of the one ton truck, backhoe, SCAG Mower, and brush mower attachment, staff is requesting to purchase. The Cat quote for the brush mower attachment was $35.00 lower cost but it did not have the safety glass protection included in their bid.
